PlayScience, LLC is a fast growing research, development and innovation firm focused on helping organizations create groundbreaking play and entertainment products that have a positive impact, especially for kids and families. We are currently looking for an intern to support our various initiatives and general day-today office tasks. We need someone who is willing to jump in on a diverse array of research, curriculum, design, and marketing projects for the company. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to gain experience in conducting formative research, user experience testing, curriculum design & program development, and marketing by working with industry leaders in the children’s entertainment field.

Job Responsibilities May Include:

• Finding up-to-date and relevant academic research and industry innovations for LabNotes, our weekly newsletter
• Assisting in the development of digital content and educational programs by creating curricular-based activities
• Helping with project-based research and/or design by aiding in the development of screeners & discussion guides, taking notes during research sessions, and preparing design documents
• Creating & disseminating marketing materials for our PlayLab
• General administrative duties

About You:

• Creative, curious, and well-organized
• Interested in child development, play, education, technology, research, and the point at which all these things come together
• A self-starter with the ability to think on the fly and get things done
• Independently motivated, but also a good team member

Beginning in January 2013, you must be able to work 2-3 days a week, with at least one of those days being in our Manhattan office. Must accept school credit.

Wise & Company is a special events firm that specializes in planning and executing high-profile events in the entertainment, fashion and media industries. Our clients include Glamour and GQ magazines, the Tribeca Film Festival, Focus Features, Paramount Pictures, Lacoste and many more. We are looking for volunteers to help us prepare for and manage our events during the 2012-2013 school year.

Volunteers will work closely with Wise & Company staff to execute a variety of events such as movie premieres, fashion shows and award shows.

At these events tasks will include but are not limited to:
• Working ticket will-call at a theater
• Helping with guest relations
• Serving as ushers within a theater
• Assisting with event logistics – ticket running, set up, etc.
• Office work – sorting tickets, delivering tickets, etc.

Requirements:
• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate college program in New York City
• Excellent communication skills
• Professional demeanor and dress
• EXTREMELY personable and organized

Events will mainly take place Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights and schedules will be confirmed 1-2 weeks ahead of time. Shifts will generally begin around 5:30 p.m. and will end by 8:30 p.m. For events that run later, volunteer shifts will usually finish by 11 p.m. Shift times will vary by event but occasional day shifts will also be available.

Compensation will vary by event, but could include event tickets or monetary compensation.
